Ozone forecasts will resume April 2027. *** Current Conditions: A strong storm is spinning along the New England coastline today, bringing plenty of clouds, a light northerly breeze, and good air quality for ozone and fine particulate matter (PM2.5). *** Tuesday: The New England storm that brought plenty of clouds and rain to Pennsylvania will depart out to sea. Aside from some lingering low clouds Tuesday morning, gradual clearing is expected. The combination of a light northwest wind and morning cloud cover will keep PM2.5 and ozone both in the good range. Highs will be in the mid-70s. *** Extended Forecast: High pressure will settle over the Mid-Atlantic midweek, causing warm, dry and tranquil conditions. PM2.5 is expected to reach the low-end moderate range Wednesday and/or Thursday as high pressure brings calm winds and patchy fog during the morning and light southwesterly winds during the afternoon. Average ozone concentrations should remain in the good range, but a brief one- or two-hour period of moderate ozone is possible each afternoon during the hottest parts of the day. A cold front will approach Friday, bringing breezy conditions and the return of rain, creating good air quality Friday through the weekend.--Curtis
