OZONE - 18 Good
Enjoy your outdoor activities.
Other Pollutants:
PM2.5 - 13 Good
Current Conditions: At 2 p.m. EST this Wednesday afternoon, skies were partly sunny with temperatures reaching the upper 50s. Light and limited mixing with higher relative humidity has allowed fine particle (PM2.5) concentrations to remain in the moderate range. A strong cold front is pushing through the Ohio valley and will pass through the area early tonight with much needed rainfall. Colder air will then sweep in behind the front and remain with us through the weekend, with the first accumulating snow of the season late Thursday into Friday. Here are the forecast details: *** Thursday’s forecast: Breezy and colder Thursday with mostly cloudy skies with periods of rain, mixing with and turning to snow late Thursday and continuing Thursday night. High temperatures will remain around 40 degrees. Brisk surface winds should allow for lower levels of particle pollution. *** Extended forecast: Low pressure is expected to rotate southward into Pennsylvania Friday with snow mixing with and turning to rain in the afternoon. The potential is there for an inch or so of snow accumulation. Highs Friday will struggle in the upper 30s. Enough mixing along with the precipitation should keep air quality good. Breezy and chilly Saturday with mostly cloudy skies and a couple of rain showers, then high pressure builds in Sunday, allowing for increasing sunshine. The next chance for rain is expected late in the day Monday. Good air quality will continue over the weekend.---McAuliffe
