*** Current conditions as of 2 PM on Thursday: A cold front has brought gusty winds to the region this afternoon to provide ample mixing, resulting in good air quality. Breezy, warm, and dry conditions are expected for Friday and Saturday before rain showers return to the forecast late Sunday into Monday. *** Friday’s Forecast: Conditions will be comfortably warm on Friday with highs in the mid-70s with a breezy northwesterly wind developing during the afternoon hours. Concentrations of PM-2.5 will again remain inside the good range with ozone levels also inside the good range. *** Sunday’s Forecast: Temperatures will climb back to near 80 degrees on Sunday under a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will not be as breezy as the few days prior to Sunday but will still be westerly. Ozone may approach the low moderate range if the cloud cover arrives later in the day. PM-2.5 concentrations will be in the higher end of the good range on average for the day. Chances for showers will begin to increase Sunday evening. *** Monday’s Forecast: Rain showers are likely on Monday with high temperatures in the mid-70s. Cloud cover will limit ozone formation to keep concentrations inside the good range. PM-2.5 concentrations will begin the day in the higher end of the good range to low moderate range with steady improvement with the rainfall. Good air quality is expected on average for the day. *** Extended Outlook: Drier conditions will return for Tuesday and Wednesday with good air quality continuing.
