We will eventually break out of this pattern as winds become westerly Saturday night and Sunday. *** Saturday’s forecast: Areas of morning fog, otherwise mostly cloudy Saturday with a milder afternoon. Light south to southeast wind flow will bring low moderate PM2.5 levels. A couple of showers are likely late Saturday/Saturday night as a cold front approaches. *** Sunday’s forecast: Winds finally shift into westerly mode Sunday, and this allows for some sunshine to return in the afternoon after a morning shower. Good air quality will prevail. *** Monday’s forecast: Times of clouds and sunshine Monday with a warmer afternoon as temperatures rise well into the 60s. Afternoon mixing and dispersion will lower PM2.5, with highest concentrations by morning. *** Extended forecast: The warmest day of the forecast period will come on Tuesday with lower 70s possible for the first time since last fall. PM2.5 concentrations will be highest in the morning, lower during the afternoon. The next cold front approaches Wednesday with rain and even a thunderstorm possible, then turning chillier late in the week with temperatures returning closer to normal mid-March levels.
