Daily Air Quality Forecast for Osceola Mills, Pennsylvania

Current Conditions at 2 p.m. EST Friday afternoon: Good air quality continues across the area in relation to fine particle pollution (PM2.5). Under a mostly sunny sky, temperatures are rising into the lower 30s. PM2.5 will be on the rise over the weekend as surface flow and mixing becomes lighter and more limited. Saturday and Sunday will turn out milder with some sun each day. Temperatures Monday into the middle of the week are expected to be several degrees above normal for the first time in nearly a month. Here are the forecast details: *** Saturday’s forecast: Calm winds and a morning inversion elevate PM2.5 Saturday morning, with lower values during the afternoon as surface flow increases. Overall daily averages end up in the lower moderate range as highs peak near 40. *** Sunday’s forecast: Light and variable winds will cause further PM2.5 rises on Sunday. With little mixing expected, concentrations may reach the high moderate range for a time. Skies will have a little sunshine as highs reach around 40. *** Monday’s forecast: Morning clouds will yield to some afternoon sunshine Monday. PM2.5 will remain in the moderate range on average due to light winds and the lack of mixing. Highs will reach the lower to middle 40s. *** Tuesday’s forecast: Turning milder Tuesday with highs possibly reaching near 50 under a partly sunny sky. Light southwest winds will not allow for a great deal of pollutant dispersion, so moderate PM2.5 levels will continue. *** Extended forecast: Above normal temperatures will remain with us Wednesday into Thursday under a west to southwesterly flow. There will also be a chance for rain showers each day with a cold front moving through Thursday. Turning colder behind this front by the end of the week. Moderate air quality continues Wednesday, with lower PM2.5 concentrations late in the week.---McAuliffe
