Daily Air Quality Forecast for Colver, Pennsylvania

Current Conditions: ***A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the area until 7 a.m. EST Saturday*** At 3 p.m. EST this Friday afternoon, snow continues across the area with a brisk westerly wind as low pressure is centered over eastern Pennsylvania. The low will move off the east coast Saturday, but our skies will remain mostly cloudy with a couple of rain and snow showers. Good air quality is expected to continue into Sunday, then may deteriorate close to moderate Monday out ahead of the next cold front. Here are the forecast details: *** Saturday’s forecast: Mostly cloudy and breezy Saturday with a couple of rain or snow showers likely. Good vertical and horizontal mixing will create an atmosphere that will inhibit fine particle pollution (PM2.5) formation, so concentrations will be on the low side. *** Sunday’s forecast: PM2.5 will be a little higher Sunday with a lighter westerly flow, but with the lack of a strong inversion, concentrations will only average in the good range. A little sunshine will occur by the afternoon with the mercury peaking in the middle 40s. *** Monday’s forecast: A stronger morning inversion Monday may send PM2.5 averages to the top of the good range. Air quality concentrations will lower during the afternoon as southwest winds increase, and there will be a couple of showers move in as well. *** Extended forecast: Mostly cloudy and breezy Tuesday with a couple of showers still possible but good air quality will prevail. High pressure brings clouds and some sun Wednesday, then the forecast becomes uncertain for Thanksgiving Day as low pressure may track close enough to us to bring a period of snow turning to rain. Good air quality is likely during the mid-week period, with a possible below normal temperature regime over the remainder of the holiday weekend.---McAuliffe
