Other Pollutants:
PM2.5 - 32 Good
Current Conditions at 3pm Friday afternoon: A mostly cloudy day today and much cooler with temperatures falling slowly during the day into the 40’s with a stiff NW breeze. Stronger mixing due to faster NW winds have caused fine particulate (PM2.5) concentrations to improve to the good range and should remain there overnight. ***Saturday’s Forecast: High pressure will allow dry weather to prevail and start a warming trend later into the weekend into next week but it will get off to a chilly start with brisk northwest flow Saturday as high temperatures only teach the mid- to upper-40’s. Good air quality will continue to prevail with more than adequate mixing and lack of any temperature inversion. ***Sunday’s Forecast: Winds will shift from northwesterly/westerly to more southwesterly bringing milder air on Sunday afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. Air quality should still remain in the upper-good range despite the southwest flow. ***Monday’s Forecast: The warming trend will continue as high temperatures will land in the 60’s with mostly sunny skies to start the day with some clouds creeping in towards the end of the day ahead of the next frontal system. PM2.5 concentrations, due to lack of adequate surface wind flow as high pressure settles just to the south of the area, will creep into the low-moderate range. ***Extended Outlook: Very warm temperatures will continue to close out the month with chances for showers Monday night through Thursday, keeping the air quality in the moderate range during this time. ---VanLenten
