A warmup finally comes to pass by the middle of the week, with precipitation possibly in liquid form Wednesday night. Here are the forecast details: *** Saturday’s forecast: Mostly cloudy Saturday with snow arriving during the afternoon. Total snow accumulations between Saturday afternoon and night will range from 2-3 inches in the northern counties to as much as 8 in the mountains to the south and east. *** Sunday’s forecast: Windy and frigid Sunday with snow tapering off to snow showers. Highs will be held to the upper teens with near zero wind chills. Blowing and drifting of snow will occur. PM2.5 levels will fall well down inside the good range. *** Monday’s forecast: Mostly cloudy with a little less wind Monday, but still cold as temperatures hold in the lower 20s. Air quality will remain in the good range. *** Extended forecast: As the upper level flow turns westerly by the mid-week period, a warming trend will commence.
