Daily Air Quality Forecast for Brooklyn, Indiana

Central Regions: The area saw a mixture of Good/Moderate on Monday and then Good for the rest of the period for Ozone. Values were Good for PM2.5 for the entire period this past week. Currently on the radar is a light area of showers across the northern counties of the area, right along a nearly stationary boundary. Expect this system to slowly drop south over the area through today/tonight bringing chances for showers and thunderstorms to the rest of the area. Precipitable water values are nearly an inch for this event, and considering how moisture laden this system is and the slow timing of it, could easily see 0.5-1 total of rainfall by early Saturday morning. Saturday gets off to a soggy start but rebounds nicely with midday clearing and will yield a breezy but pleasant afternoon and late day. High temperatures today will be in the upper 60's, and tomorrow in the mid 70's. A cold front is expect to move from northwest to southeast Saturday night into Sunday. Moisture with this system does not look overly impressive and only expecting a slight chance of showers during this time. Nevertheless, expect a shift in winds from southwest to north on Sunday and a drop in highs on Sunday to the mid 60's. The area gets fairly cleaned out as sunny skies are in store for Monday with highs only in the lower 60's. Winds will remain at or above 5 to 10 mph through the period with gusts up to 25 mph today and tomorrow. Mixing heights today and tomorrow are around 5000 ft, then 4000 ft for Sunday and jump up to 7000 ft for Monday. The Canadian is depicting Good conditions through the forecast period. The 06Z BC NOAA model is showing Good straight across the board for both Ozone and PM2.5, with the exception of one Moderate tomorrow at Indianapolis, which is possible with the clearing skies and higher temperatures of the period. Planning on playing it conservatively and putting in Moderates for both Indianapolis and Terre Haute for tomorrow for PM2.5, and then putting in Good's for the rest of the forecast period.
