Central Regions: Ozone was all Good this past weekend. PM2.5 was almost all Good this past weekend, but it steadily grew each day, and on Sunday had a Moderate at W. 18th St. Indianapolis. As of 12Z this morning, surface high pressure is centered over Wisconsin and the Great Lakes region. This high pressure will remain over the area through at least midweek. An upper ridge is building over the same region. Gradually warming temperatures each day this week through Thursday is the main story until a cold front sweeps through the area Thursday night. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 70's with sunny skies and north winds around 5 mph. Highs tomorrow (Tuesday) will be around 80 with sunny skies again, and light and variable winds. Highs can be expected in the lower to mid-80's for Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph. Dew points will generally be in the lower 50's with some upper 40's during the afternoon today. In terms of guidance for Ozone, the Canadian is mostly Good for today with Moderate for tomorrow and Wednesday. This seems a bit overdone considering persistence. The 06Z BC NOAA model is predicting all Good for both sites Indianapolis and Terre Haute, which falls more in line with current numbers and persistence, so will be going with Good for the entire period. As for PM2.5, the NOAA model is going with all Moderate. The area is expecting more PM2.5 growth considering unchanged conditions with sunny skies, light winds and warmer temperatures each day this period. So even though I don't think we will see widespread Moderate today, we will at least a few sites go over, and then on Tuesday a few more, etc. I think this is enough to warrant Moderate through the entire period.
