Daily Air Quality Forecast for Lake Station, Indiana

The past few days have seen all good ozone. PM2.5 started in the good range on Friday, then by Sunday had increased into a mix of good and moderate. Today will bring temperatures reaching the low 70's and mostly clear skies. Dewpoints will increase into the 50's later today, winds will be primarily from the north reaching speeds near 5 mph, and mixing heights will reach near 4000 ft at most. Tomorrow will bring similar temperatures while dewpoints stay in the 50's. Cloud cover will start to increase, winds will be varied and reach around 5 mph, and mixing heights will once again rise to around 4000 ft. Wednesday will see slightly warmer temperatures as dewpoints increase to near 60 degrees. Skies will become partly cloudy. Winds will shift to be primarily from the south, reaching speeds near 10 mph with gusts around 15 mph, and mixing heights will decrease, reaching near 3000 ft at most. There will be a chance of rain beginning overnight on Wednesday, then continuing into Thursday. The Canadian and NOAA 6Z BC models both show good ozone over the next couple of days, with the Canadian model seeing more of an increase towards the moderate range by the end of the period. The NOAA 6Z BC model is more consistent with recent values. Given recent conditions, as well as temperatures staying in the 70's or lower, moderate ozone will continue to be unlikely. The Canadian model shows good PM2.5 over the next few days, while the NOAA 6Z BC model shows a mix of good and moderate today and mostly moderate for Tuesday and Wednesday. Again, the NOAA 6Z BC model is more similar to recent observations. Given the recent increase in PM2.5, as well as the relatively light winds, moderate PM2.5 will be a possibility over the next few days.
