Daily Air Quality Forecast for Coatesville, Indiana

Fine Particulate: Latest surface analysis depicts a low pressure system, and it’s associated cold front slowly moving across the area this morning. Because of this, showers are in the area. This system eventually will move into the Tennessee Valley by late night and the precipitation chances will come to an end. After tonight the forecast period will be dry and through mid-week as well. Highs today will be in the lower to mid-50’s, however, will be falling later during the day. Tomorrow expect high pressure to be building in, mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower to mid-40’s. Sunday looks a little cloudier thanks to a warm front lifting north over the area, but with much warmer temperatures in the upper 50s. As high pressure builds back in on Monday, it will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 50s. Expect frequent gusts up to 20 mph during this forecast period. Generally used a blend of the EURO/GFS and partly the NAM for the beginning of the period The Firework smoke model shows very little if at all anything, only some fires in central California, so no impacts for the Hoosier state. The Canadian model is going with Good through the forecast period, most likely because of the breezy/gusty winds. The 06Z NOAA Model is also going with Moderate for today for both Terre Haute and Indy, Good for tomorrow and then Moderate again for Sunday. I agree with this forecast for these specific sites, but for the rest of the forecast area not so much, and this is based on persistence the past two days. There could be more Moderate out there, it’s just that the other monitors have not caught on to it yet. So, think I’m going to go the conservative route and go with a mixture of Moderate and Good this forecast period. Good to start off this rainy period and then transition to Moderate by Sunday.
