Ozone:  Ozone forecast season begins again March 1st, 2025. Fine Particulate: Today will bring overcast skies, a chance of rain throughout the day, and temperatures reaching the low 40's at the warmest. Dewpoints will reach near 40 degrees. Wind direction will vary throughout the day, reaching speeds greater than 10 kts. 850 mb temperatures will reach near 5 C at the warmest before they start to fall throughout today and tomorrow, staying near or below 0 C throughout the weekend. There is low surface pressure in the region today which is making its way out and to the southeast. Tomorrow will bring cooler surface temperatures, with highs in the mid 30's. Dewpoints will fall as well, decreasing into the 20's. Skies will continue to be mostly cloudy even as the chance of precipitation decreases, and winds will still be varied as wind speeds fall to near 10 kts. On Sunday temperatures will increase into the mid 40's while dewpoints rise into the 30's. Skies will be overcast and rain will once again be possible. High surface pressure will be to the north of the state, making its way eastward. Winds will be primarily from the south, reaching speeds near 10 kts. Monday will bring very similar conditions with slightly cooler temperatures and decreasing wind speeds. The Canadian model shows good PM2.5 throughout the period, consistent with recent good PM2.5 measurements. The NOAA 6Z BC model disagrees and shows moderate today, good tomorrow, and then moderate again on Sunday. The Canadian smoke model shows minimal impact from wildfire smoke over the next few days. As this week ends with rain moving through the state, PM2.5 will continue to be unlikely. With a relative decrease in wind speeds through the beginning of next week, however, moderate PM2.5 will become more likely on Sunday and Monday.
