Values for ozone were moderate on Monday and then have been in the good range for the rest of the week Tuesday to Friday. PM2.5 values were a mix of moderate and good Monday and Tuesday with good conditions the rest of the workweek. Temperatures are forecast to be mild Friday with highs forecast to be low to mid-70's with mostly sunny conditions. Shower and thunderstorm chances are introduced late afternoon to early evening with SW winds. Saturday is forecast mostly sunny conditions. Winds are forecast to be 0-10 MPH from the SSW with a high temperature in the mid-70's to low 80's. An isolated shower is possible as a shortwave moves through but the best chance for that is areas to the north. Rain chances move back in early Sunday. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms Sunday. Temperatures are forecast to be around 70 to 75 degrees with the winds now from the NW. Monday will be cooler and drier; temperatures Monday are forecast to be in the mid-60's to around 70 degrees. Winds will be from the North on Monday. The NOAA 06Z BC model for PM2.5 forecasts good for the entire forecast period of Friday through Monday. However, both the NOAA BC Model and the NOAA model have underestimated PM2.5 values over the last 12+ hours given current and past observations. I believe it is possible to have a 24-hour moderate average for PM2.5 for SE Indiana given current observations, SW flow, and warm temperatures today. I believe Saturday could have a similar pattern as well due to the sunshine, temperatures, and SW flow leading to a mix of good and moderate. I do agree with good for Sunday and Monday. Ozone is forecast to be good Friday through Monday. I agree with this guidance given the active weather pattern and eventual northerly flow not conducive to ozone. Mixing heights are forecast to be around 6,800 ft Friday, 6,500 ft. Saturday, and 4,000 ft. Sunday.
