Ozone was Good for the past period except for one Moderate in Avon on Memorial Day. A meandering frontal boundary to the south of the state does not look like it will impact the area today except for some cloud cover. High temperatures today will be around 80. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast starting tonight and lasting through Wednesday as the boundary lifts northward into the area. A dry backdoor cold front will finally clear the boundary out from the area, and the state by Thursday, leaving mostly sunny skies as high pressure builds over the area. Highs will be around 80 for the rest of the period. Winds will be at or below 5 mph until Thursday they will be northeast at 5 to 10 mph, and Friday east northeast around 5 mph. Mixing heights today and tomorrow will be 4000-4500 ft. Thursday they will be 5500 ft, and by Friday back down to 4000 ft. In terms of the forecast, the Canadian and 06Z BC NOAA Model are both going with Good for the forecast period for both sites for Ozone. This makes sense considering the mostly cloudy forecast today, then rain chances, then northeast winds Thu/Fri which are not typically favorable for Ozone development. The Canadian is also showing Good for PM2.5, while the NOAA Model is indicating Moderate for today and Good the rest of the period. We currently already have Moderate in the forecast for today, and planning on being conservative and leaving that in. The rest of the period though will most likely be Good based on the conditions so will go with this.
