Daily Air Quality Forecast for Advance, Indiana

Weather Forecast Discussion For today, a cold front will drop south over the area and not produce much if any precipitation along with it. There may be a few clouds and a wind shift to the north around 5 mph. With high pressure building back in overhead expect sunny skies and highs in the upper 70’s. Then expect more of the same for tomorrow (Saturday) as the ridge shifts and winds become easterly at 5 to 10 mph. Highs once again will be in the upper 70’s with sunny skies. Sunday will have a cold front move through the area and provide an increase in wind speeds and change of direction. The front will not provide much precipitation as it does have lift but not enough moisture. Skies are still expected to be sunny with highs in the lower 80’s. Southwest winds at 10 mph will become west during the afternoon and gust to around 25 mph. Monday will be noticeably cooler after the frontal passage with highs only in the upper 60’s. Sunny skies are expected once again though and winds will be northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Air Quality model analysis and decision Ozone: The Canadian is showing a mixture of Good/Moderate for today and Saturday, and then Good on Sunday. The 06Z NOAA model is showing Good for Indianapolis and Good for Terre Haute for today through the rest of the period. With this good model consensus and considering persistence, planning on going Good straight across the board for both sites. Fine Particulate: The Firework smoke model shows a little fire activity and light plumes across the western states and down in the south central states. The model is indicating that Indiana will not be impacted by anything at this time. The Canadian has Moderate for today and Saturday, then goes Good for Sunday. The 06Z NOAA Model is going Moderate for both sites straight through the period. With a little bit of good consensus for PM2.5 will be going Moderate through Sunday and then Good for Monday at both sites, to play things a bit conservatively.
