Daily Air Quality Forecast for Padre Ranchitos, Arizona

[View the ADEQ Hourly Forecast for Yuma]
A low pressure wave will move through Arizona today (Friday), resulting in cloudy skies, chances for light rain, and high temperatures dropping into the low 70s. High pressure will then follow on Saturday, leading to clearer skies and a slight warm-up into the mid/upper 70s. But by Sunday, another low pressure pattern will start to approach from the west. Winds will shift out of the south.

Between today and Sunday, PM10 (dust) and PM2.5 (smoke) will remain mostly locally driven. Any rain today would help to reduce PM10/PM2.5. Breezes on Sunday should help to reduce locally produced PM10/PM2.5 from any morning activity as well, though we can't rule out pockets of dust in the afternoon.

Then by Monday, weather conditions are forecast to turn more dramatic, with stronger winds out of west, and rain chances entering the forecast once again. Gusts up to 30mph or more look to be possible across southern California and in Yuma. Overall, dust will be possible in Yuma, given the strength of the winds across the region. However, any rain would help to bring dust levels down.

Tuesday also looks to be a breezy day with winds out of the west, but how much dust might occur will depend on the rain.

Check back on Tuesday morning for the next Yuma Air Quality Forecast.
