Particulate levels, however, are expected to become elevated today with gusty winds developing across the region. These strong winds develop out of the north-northeast to northeast today and persist into Saturday and Sunday. Our developing weather pattern and gusty winds should elevate particulate values into the Moderate AQI range, especially this afternoon, and the weekend into Sunday.
An area of low pressure develops over northwestern Mexico Sunday into Monday, helping to develop a stronger pressure gradient across the region, which keeps gusty winds in the forecast through Monday.
