A large low-pressure wave is situated over the southwestern corner of the U.S. continent this morning, centered over southern California. Over the next few days, this wave will slowly progress eastward over and through Arizona. Unfortunately, at least for Yuma, rain is expected to rather meager--maybe a few sprinkles later today, if any. Instead, the main impacts on the weather will be cooler temperatures, afternoon breezes, and an increase in clouds overhead. Conditions will then start to warm up and clear by the end of the work week.
Air quality-wise, given how dry it has been, any breezes could result in dust in dust-prone areas. Therefore, PM10 could be elevated at times in the afternoons. Furthermore, we expect PM10 and PM2.5 (smoke) to be locally driven during the overnight and morning hours.
Check back tomorrow morning for the next forecast.
