This morning, both PM10 (dust) and PM2.5 (smoke) have been running low after a breezy and wet Sunday in southeastern Arizona.
Looking ahead, weather conditions will clear out and calm down today. Some afternoon breezes are still expected afternoon, though. Then by tomorrow and Wednesday, higher pressure will build over Arizona, with Wednesday being the warmest day of the week. However, Wednesday will also be the windiest day, as another weather system approaches. This wave will cause temperatures to trend downward again on Thursday and Friday.
As for PM10 and PM2.5, both pollutants are expected to be elevated in the mornings and evenings each day. Cold overnight temperatures in the 30s will cause the nighttime inversion to be stronger, which traps PM10/PM2.5 near the ground. An increase in PM2.5 from fireplace usage is also possible.
Daytime winds will help to disperse any morning PM10/PM2.5 though, particularly Wednesday's winds.
Check back tomorrow morning for the latest!
