High pressure over the region continues to bring very hot temperatures. The National Weather Service has an Extreme Heat Warning in effect through Thursday. As for the air quality, ozone and PM2.5 ended up in the Good AQI range, while PM10 stayed in the Moderate category.
Looking ahead, we don't expect ozone levels to change too much. We are forecasting ozone to continue hovering around the upper Good range. As for PM10, it is possible we'll see some thunderstorm outflows reach into the area over the coming days. Currently the strongest outflow potential appears to be early Saturday morning. Overall, PM10 is forecast to stay in the Moderate AQI category with highest concentrations Saturday morning. As for PM2.5, it is forecast to stay in the Good AQI range over than Saturday.
