There was certainly some dust getting kicked up in the area yesterday, but fortunately, the PM10 AQI did stay in the mid-to-upper Moderate range as we expected. As for ozone and PM2.5, they both ended up in the lower Moderate range yesterday.
Looking ahead, a cut-off low will hang out to the south of Arizona the next several days. Here in the Phoenix area, we anticipate generally calm weather conditions through the weekend. On Monday, there will be slight chances for rain to move into the area, but we don't expect anything too significant at this time. As for the air quality, decent ventilation is forecast to keep ozone levels in the upper Good AQI range through the forecast period. Switching to particulates, PM10 and PM2.5 are forecast to hover around the upper Good to lower Moderate range the next several days.
