Sunday will be the main day to watch for this air quality forecast period. Blowing dust will be possible because of prolonged, breezy winds out of the east and/or east-southeast. A corridor of 20-30 mph winds (and higher gusts), stretching from the bootheel area of New Mexico to Gila County, looks to develop in the morning, and remain intact for much of the day. Also, storm-related winds may also be possible in the evening.
PM10 (dust) is forecast in the Moderate AQI category on Sunday, and elevated PM10 levels will be possible throughout the day, morning through evening. No rain is expected.
Outside of Sunday, PM10 levels should remain low, locally driven, particularly on weekday mornings.
Check back again on Monday for the latest.
