Other Pollutants:
PM2.5 - 28 Good
Strong surface inversions redevelop Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. Overnight and early morning fine particle concentrations on Thursday will be in the Moderate AQI range. However, by midday, strong mixing will take place on gusty northwest winds as cold air moves into the state, resulting in substantial improvement in fine particle concentrations. The result will be a morning with Moderate AQI while the afternoon will be in the Good range. The daily average concentration will therefore fall in the upper-Good to low-Moderate AQI range for most areas. On Friday, a clean but cold airmass will be across the region. A few areas in the morning may see fine particle concentrations creep upwards due to light winds, but largely Good air quality will dominate for the day. On Friday night, expect fine particle concentrations to increase, particularly where wood burning is present. This will carry into Saturday, when weak mixing through the day will lead to Moderate AQI for the daily average concentration exposure.
