Air Quality Index for Washington

The highest AQ index in Washington (as of 6:00 PDT) is currently the Chelan area. Particle Pollution (PM2.5) is measuring at 94 (Moderate). This means air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.

Over the next few days, the highest Ozone (OZONE) will be in the Bremerton-Silverdale-Bainbridge Island area. It is forecasted to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, meaning members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected.

For July 3 - 8 (Wed-Mon): Expect mostly GOOD to MODERATE air quality for the rest of this week and in to the weekend, except for the evening of the 4th (Thur) and Sat-Mon afternoon in the Cascade foothills. In general, overnight the winds will be light to calm, so areas may reach MODERATE AQ overnight. On the evening of the 4th, many areas may reach UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS, or UNHEALTHY air quality for an hour or more due to fireworks. On Sat-Mon, due to warmer temperatures, ozone may reach UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS in the Cascade foothills in the afternoon.
