Other Pollutants:
PM2.5 - 29 Good
PM10 - 14 Good
After a cloudy start to the morning, skies have become mostly sunny across the Triad this afternoon to allow air quality levels to rise into the lower Code YELLOW range. A chance of showers and possible thunderstorms remain into the evening hours as a cold front passes through the region, ushering in a drier and cooler Canadian air mass that will settle over the Triad tomorrow. The air mass upstream is relatively clean and should drop particle pollution into the middle to upper Code GREEN range for both pollutants. Ozone production may increase, but northerly winds should help dissipate any elevated areas of ozone concentrations to keep ozone AQI Code GREEN. The ridge of high pressure slides offshore on Monday to allow for southerly winds to initiate a warming trend that will persist through Tuesday. With that said, air quality levels are expected to rise into the lower to middle Code YELLOW range for Monday and Tuesday. (Payne)
