Sunday, light southwesterly to westerly winds will limit dispersion and gradually transport Saharan dust into the Bayou State, keeping particle concentrations elevated. In addition, an upper-level ridge of high pressure will reduce atmospheric mixing. These conditions will result in low-Moderate AQI levels statewide. Monday and Tuesday, as light westerly to southwesterly winds persist, Saharan dust will gradually dissipate, lowering particle concentrations slightly across Louisiana.
