Ground-Level Ozone is on track to peak in code green for all forecast regions in South Carolina this Wednesday afternoon except for the Upstate region which appears to be trending code yellow. Increasing tropical moisture associated with a disturbance over the Gulf will help limit ozone formation on Thursday. This will help to increase cloud cover and humidity, which will precede rain that is expected to arrive Thursday evening. Light winds, southwest at 5 to 10 mph and a somewhat unstable atmosphere will also help disperse pollutants and suppress ozone development. As a result, all forecast regions are expected to remain in CODE GREEN on Thursday.
