Very warm and showery weather will prevail for the next few weeks. Today, strong southerly winds will bring a moderately polluted air mass northward from Texas into eastern Oklahoma; meanwhile, strong dry winds will bring extreme fire danger and raise locally unhealthy blowing dust in the west. Some agricultural and prescribed burning continues in eastern Oklahoma. Any fires may produce locally unhealthy smoke. Several days of thunderstorms begin tomorrow afternoon and may bring large hail or heavy rain to wash away pollution and to improve air quality for the weekend, but rain may change to snow in Cimarron County. Sunshine and potential ozone development return for Easter Monday. Afterward, occasional rain showers will limit accumulation of air pollutants.
