Some areas of moderate fine particulate matter persist from yesterday, but rain showers will wash pollution from the atmosphere today. Some thunderstorms may produce large hail. Ozone may reach the moderate category in areas with several hours of afternoon sunshine and downwind of Dallas. A storm on the northern Great Plains will induce strong southerly winds on Sunday and Monday, and these winds may loft blowing dust, especially in the Panhandle and western Oklahoma. They also will bring light Mesoamerican smoke northward into central and eastern Oklahoma. The warm and showery weather will persist into May, so mostly good air quality will continue.
