Air Quality model analysis and decision Fine Particulate: The NOAA 06Z BC is good through mid-week and the GEM-MACH is good as well. I don’t have any concerns for poor air quality for the work week, despite some light snow cover-sometimes under stable conditions with warm air overrunning a snowpack we do see elevated fine particulate matter but that is not likely this week. It should remain well below freezing and windy to start the week with lighter winds and modest mixing heights. By Thursday mixing heights will be around 1700 ft during the day and much lower at night due to very cold temperatures which combined with light winds we could see some low moderates if there is any local burning. Overall, no major concerns and will keep a good forecast.
