Sunday, March 8: Moderate southwesterly winds will aid dispersion across central Ohio throughout the day as a surface high-pressure system develops to the south. As a result, AQI levels will be Good. Monday, March 9: Moderate southwesterly winds will gradually transport pollutants into central Ohio as the surface ridge of high pressure lingers to the south. However, low pollutant carryover around the region will allow AQI levels to remain high-Good. Tuesday, as the next low-pressure system deepens to the west, increasing clouds will limit ozone formation, while moderate southwesterly winds aid dispersion. However, these winds will also carry smoke from agricultural fires in the Deep South into central Ohio, raising particle levels. Therefore, AQI levels will be low-Moderate. Wednesday, periods of showers and thunderstorms will promote atmospheric mixing as the surface low-pressure system passes to the north. Furthermore, gusty winds will aid dispersion throughout the day, leading to Good AQI levels. Thursday, moderate northwesterly winds will disperse pollutants across central Ohio behind a departing cold front, leading to Good AQI levels. Friday, strong southwesterly to westerly winds will promote mixing and dispersion as another surface low moves through the Great Lakes. As a result, AQI levels will remain Good.
