Daily Air Quality Forecast for Mayodan, North Carolina

A hot and sticky air mass has allowed or air quality levels to gradually rise into the lower Code YELLOW range as the Triad remains along the northwestern periphery of an upper-level ridge. Chances of rain increase later this evening as a disturbance moves in from the northwest to bring some isolated showers and storms to the region. Tuesday and Wednesday will likely see a reduction in precipitation chances while seeing the heat remain as the ridge retrogrades west, with slightly cleaner upstream air leading to a brief dip to Code GREEN on Tuesday. Lower dewpoints, light/variable winds and sunny skies will likely lead to ozone levels creeping into the lower Code YELLOW range by Wednesday afternoon. Chances of rain increase on Thursday an advance of another area of disturbed weather moving in from the west to increase cloud cover and limit air quality levels from rising out of the upper Code GREEN range.
