Primary air pollutant in the Advance area:
PM2.5 - 59 Moderate
If you are unusually sensitive to particle pollution, consider reducing your activity level or shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors.
Other Pollutants:
PM10 - 13 Good
Particulate matter concentrations remain elevated today as cloud cover thickens as a result of mid-level moisture overriding drier air at the surface, trapping particle pollution in the lower portion of the atmosphere to increase air quality AQI to Code YELLOW. Chances of precipitation increase late tonight as the area of disturbed weather approaches from the southwest. Precipitation is likely to start as snow, or a snow/sleet mix in areas of the Triad north of the I-85 corridor tomorrow morning, before eventually switching over to rain by late morning/early afternoon. Particle pollution will likely remain Code YELLOW through the day on Friday as particulates remain trapped in the shallow surface cold air pool. Rain should move off to the east by Friday evening, though skies should remain mostly cloudy overnight and through most of Saturday. Particle pollution will likely drop enough to reach Code GREEN this weekend, but another upper level disturbance diving in from the northwest Sunday afternoon may cause particulate matter concentrations to accumulate ahead of the boundary to briefly elevate AQI to low Code YELLOW Sunday evening.
