Dry cold air moving in from the northwest has kept particle pollution levels from rising out of the middle Code GREEN range today. An upper level disturbance diving in from the northwest this evening could produce some light snow for the Triad, but will likely not generate any accumulations higher than a trace outside of higher terrain areas. A reinforcing shot of cold high pressure should continue to keep air quality levels well within the Code GREEN range tomorrow. Another cold front approaches from the northwest on Wednesday, with particle pollution concentrations accumulating ahead of the boundary to elevate AQI into the upper Code GREEN range. The dry cold front moves through the Triad on Thursday, and dry northwest flow during the day in the wake of the departing front will likely lower AQI into the middle to upper Code GREEN range.
