The impressive smoke plume aloft from two wildfires in Arizona seen to the north and east this morning is a reminder of possible smoke and ozone impacts during this season. For now, the weather pattern and lower-level winds are keeping the LV valley in the Moderate daily air quality index (AQI) for ozone and Good AQI for particulates. Increasing winds from the SW into the weekend will cause local areas of blowing dust.
