On Tuesday a cold front will make slow progress through western and central Minnesota. The chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase heading into the afternoon, but the Twin Cities and areas south and east will remain mostly sunny for most of the day. Ozone and particulate is forecast to reach Yellow (Moderate) on Tuesday in the Twin Cities metro and southeast MN. Some light wildfire smoke may make it into northern Cook county. Air quality in the rest of the state should remain Green (Good). The cold front will continue sinking southward through southern MN on Wednesday. Air quality in most of the state will be Green. Some smoke from a wildfire in Ontario may bring Yellow air quality to northern Lake and Cook counties.
