Arctic high pressure will hold firm control of our weather for Wednesday. A low pressure passing well south of the area will increase clouds and will bring some light snow over southeast Minnesota. Light winds overnight caused particulate to increase to Yellow (Moderate) during the morning in most of the state, but conditions have improved to Green (Good) over most of the area by late afternoon. The Arctic high will remain over the area for Thursday into early Friday, and generally light winds will cause AQIs to linger at or near Yellow in most of Minnesota. Far northern Minnesota has the best chance for air quality to remain Green (Good). A low pressure will pass south of the area during the Friday into the first part of Saturday with light snow spreading northward into southern and central Minnesota. Amounts look fairly light, with maximum totals of 3-5" in our southeast counties tapering to a dusting in our western and northwest counties. AQIs are forecast to remain Yellow for much of Friday, then should improve to Green for Friday night and Saturday as the low progresses northeastward into the Ohio River Valley.
