Primary air pollutant in the Heidelberg area:
PM2.5 - 51 Moderate
If you are unusually sensitive to particle pollution, consider reducing your activity level or shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors.
High pressure across the region will promote cool temperatures through tonight, as well as light winds across southern Minnesota. However, winds have already increased and turned southerly across northwestern Minnesota as of this Friday afternoon, and the rest of the state will observe similar trends on Saturday in response to an incoming low pressure system. There is some potential for increased particle pollution Saturday to reach the Yellow (moderate) AQI category across portions of eastern and southern Minnesota, but the Green (good) AQI category is more likely statewide both today and Saturday. A cold frontal passage Saturday night will switch winds to the northwest on Sunday, and usher in cleaner air. An additional frontal passage early next week will prevent reduced air quality from stagnation, and so predominantly good air quality is forecast to continue.
