A pocket of light fine particle pollution has drifted from North Dakota into western Minnesota this afternoon behind a weakening cold front, and it may linger into Tuesday due to light winds. However, the Green (good) air quality index is still anticipated statewide due in part to an active weather pattern. A passing low pressure system should help to exchange airmasses by Tuesday evening, and bring a shield of rain across portions of southern, central and northeastern Minnesota. Air quality should remain Green through the next several days as well.
