As we settle into mid-September, cooler weather descends upon us and the first signs of color change in the trees begin to emerge. Recent days have been mostly dry, and night-time temperatures are dipping into the chilly 40’s. Monday will be last dry day for the next few days, however. A warm front will cross the area early Tuesday followed by a cold front later Tuesday which will bring in shower and thunderstorm potential. That front will stall south of Michigan through midweek providing multiple chances for precipitation through Thursday. Friday appears to be the lone dry day for the remainder of the week before another surface low drives through the region during the weekend bringing additional shower and thunderstorm potential. As for Air Quality during the week, I expect ozone to remain the Good range enforced with the lower sun angle, shorter days and cooler nights. Fine Particulates should also be mostly Good with a few scattered Moderates. EXTENDED FORECAST: Air Quality is expected to remain mostly Good to begin the upcoming weekend.
