Unsettled conditions and seasonable temperatures for the next few days will support mainly Good air quality. On Thursday, clean flow from the south will keep Good air quality on tap for most areas. On Friday, winds turn to the west where some degraded air is currently located. Some degradation is expected as temperatures also increase locally, though breezy conditions, partial sunshine and increasing chances for rain in the afternoon will keep ozone in the upper Good to low Moderate range for the corridor, with Good AQI elsewhere. Continued unsettled weather on Saturday should return Good air quality to the region. Isolated pockets of low-end Moderate range fine particles remain possible, but this should remain the exception, not the norm, which will otherwise be Good air quality for particles. The long-range outlook begins to look towards Canada, where fires have been burning for some time. Some modest smoke is possible for our region next week.
