Daily Air Quality Forecast for Callaway, Maryland

A weak frontal boundary will linger just south of the area Saturday. Enough afternoon cloud coverage will help to keep ozone levels generally in the Good AQI range. Fine particulates however will likely reach low Moderate levels as diffuse smoke from Pacific Northwest fires continues to linger around the Mid-Atlantic. Clouds will be on the increase Sunday as a disturbance approaches the area from the west. Ozone will be held low with Good conditions expected statewide. Precipitation will help to wash out some of the diffuse smoke, however threshold Good to low Moderate PM2.5 levels will likely persist. A few more breaks of sun are expected come Monday leading to an uptick in ozone versus Sunday. However, given an initially clean residual air mass and enough afternoon clouds, expected generally Good ozone levels to persist. Fine particulates will also likely drop back into the Good AQI range Monday as continued mixing of surface smoke lowers concentrations. Plentiful sunshine looks to return Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure sets up west of the area. Ozone levels will climb as a result, pushing in to the Moderate range for portions of the state.
