Improving air quality this weekend after Good to low Moderate AQI due to ozone on Saturday. Cooler, cleaner coastal air will infiltrate much of the eastern half of the state Friday night into Saturday morning keeping air quality concerns low and the AQI forecast Good. West of the coastal front, hot conditions persist, allowing ozone to persist in the Moderate AQI range for another day. A cold front sweeps through the area Saturday night ushering in a much cooler airmass and windy conditions for Sunday with a reinforcement of cold air for Monday, leading to Good AQI both days. Temperatures are slow to recover into next week, leading to persisting Good air quality. It is noted, however, that the region remains dry and fire prone.
