Daily Air Quality Forecast for Fort Meade, Maryland

A low pressure and associated frontal boundary will move through the state Tuesday afternoon. General clouds coverage along with showers and thunderstorms will help to keep ozone levels in the Good AQI range across the state. Fine particulates however may be slightly elevated, particularly during the morning hours as diffuse smoke from Pacific Northwest fires impact the region. Although the bulk of the smoke will remain aloft, enough will make its way to the surface to result in generally low Moderate PM2.5 levels for a daily 24-hour average. Some lingering clouds and spotty precipitation is expected Wednesday into Thursday as the low pressure system continues to spin over New England. Ozone levels will remain low with Good conditions expected statewide. Fine particulates will also drop back into the Good range as clean northerly flow and sufficient mixing helps to reduce smoke impacts and lower concentrations.
