Saturday, light southerly winds ahead of an approaching cold front will hinder pollutant dispersion. In addition, lingering thin-density smoke from agricultural fires will contribute to particle levels in some areas. Therefore, AQI levels will be high-Good to low-Moderate in most cities. Sunday, as a cold front departs to the south, moderate and gusty north-northeasterly winds will develop. These winds will increase dispersion and carry cleaner, cooler air into the Bayou State.
