Monday, as a cold front approaches from the northwest, moderate and gusty south-southeasterly winds will disperse pollutants and bring clean air into Louisiana. As a result, AQI levels will be Good statewide. Tuesday, as the cold front advances into Louisiana, moderate winds will keep pollutants well dispersed over much of the sate. Additionally, rain showers and scattered thunderstorms will keep the atmosphere well mixed and limit ozone formation, yielding Good AQI levels. Wednesday, as the front stalls over the Bayou State, winds will weaken, reducing pollutant dispersion. However, rain showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue to reduce ozone production and enhance mixing. Furthermore, regional pollutant carryover from previous days will be low. These conditions will lead to high-Good AQI levels in most cities.
