Weather Analysis and Air Quality Forecasting Decisions: Ozone: After a sunny, beautiful day Sunday, temperatures are in the mid-50's with a few clouds and high pressure over the Virginias. An upper level ridge is over the Great Lakes southward to the southern Mississippi Valley. An upper level trough from the northern plains down to southern California with an associated cold front will slowly move eastward across the plains today. A strong pressure gradient will bring southerly winds and boost dew points to 60 degrees today and highs into the low-80's. Overnight lows will be near 70 degrees. Tuesday, the cold front will pass through all of Indiana except the Ohio Valley bringing gusty south winds, very high humidity and thunderstorms and likely a half inch of rain. CAPE levels will be relatively unstable near 2,500. The cold front will retreat northward after a brief pause with the front Wednesday the front being well to the north. Showers throughout the day, but lighter and very humid with highs around 80. The active pattern continues with more showers through the week. NOAA and Canadian models say Good for both days. Fine Particulate: Warm and quite humid for the next few days. Unstable with thundershowers Tuesday along with gusty winds and possibly heavy thunderstorms. Quite humid Wednesday with clouds and lighter showers and much lighter winds. NOAA models say borderline Good / Moderate for both days with Canadian models saying Good Tuesday and Moderate for Wednesday.
