PM2.5 levels were good on Wednesday and Thursday. A cold front is forecast to move through the region today with light rain accompanying this front. High temperatures are only forecast to reach 50's to low 60's during the day with overnight lows around freezing. Frost and freeze warnings/advisories are in place for many. Friday is forecast to be cloudy with patchy rain showers. Saturday as high pressure builds in cloud cover will clear and this could happen as early as overnight Friday which could lead to more radiational cooling. Temperatures are forecast to be around mid-50's Friday and Saturday, around 60 Sunday and, mid-60's Monday. Dewpoints are forecast to be in the 40's to 30's Friday into the weekend. Winds are forecast to be NNW 5-15 MPH Friday with gusts up to 20 MPH, NNW 0-10 MPH Saturday, and SW 0-10 MPH Sunday and Monday. The NOAA 06Z BC model for PM2.5 forecasts good levels Friday with a mix of good and moderate Saturday and moderate for all Sunday. The Canadian model shows good levels for that entire forecast period. I think good is likely Friday and Saturday with the fresh air mass, NW winds, and models overestimating the last few days. Sunday and Monday a mix is possible with SW flow and a more stagnant mass with airflow. But still, thinking only moderate for Monday given model overestimation and Monday gives more time for pollution to build. Mixing heights are forecast around 3,600 ft. Friday and 4,500 ft. Saturday.
