Southern Regions: PM2.5 was good Friday through Sunday, and ozone was good for all for the forecast period except for one moderate in Louisville on Saturday. Current hourly readings this morning are good for ozone with PM2.5 a mix of good and moderate around Louisville. Temperatures are forecast to be slightly cooler Monday with overnight low's in the mid 50'sand daytime highs in the upper 70's. Temperatures are then forecast to rise to be above average for Tuesday (low 80's) and Wednesday (low 90's). There is ample mixing present in the boundary layer leading to a large temperature gradient across the state. The models have underdone mixing leading to the likelihood that temperatures will actually exceed model guidance the next few days. Light surface winds are expected from the high pressure. Winds Monday are forecast to be N 0-10 MPH, calm Tuesday, and S 0-10 MPH Wednesday. Southerly flow is forecast return to the region Wednesday because the surface high pressure moves more to the east. The NOAA 06Z BC model for PM2.5 forecasts good levels for SW Monday through Wednesday and good for SE Monday with moderate possible Tuesday and Wednesday. The Canadian model shows good levels for that entire forecast period. I think good is likely for Monday with a mix of good and low-end moderate possible Tuesday and Wednesday due to low wind speeds and a stagnant air mass, I do think if mixing is higher than forecast, levels will stay mostly to entirely good. The NOAA 06Z BC model for ozone predicts good levels for Monday and Tuesday with moderate likely Wednesday. The Canadian model forecasts good levels Monday, with moderate possible Tuesday and Wednesday. Good seems likely today and tomorrow with the cooler temperatures and wind direction, but moderate is possible Wednesday as the flow switches to be southerly, temperatures are in the 90's and RH values are low. Mixing heights are forecast to be around 6,000 ft. Monday and Tuesday.
